ASSESSMENT OF FARMERS’ FERTILIZER MANAGEMENT PRACTICES AND CROPPING PATTERNS IN TATKON TOWNSHIP, NAY PYI TAW UNION TERRITORY, MYANMAR
Face-to-face interviews (n = 48) were conducted at Kin Mun Tan village tract in Tatkon Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union territory, Myanmar to identify current status of cropping patterns in their farmland and to assess the currently used fertilizer management practices in the study area. Survey data indicated that there were twenty-four cropping practices and it could be categorized as three cropping patterns; double rice (38%), maize based (28%) and sunflower based (34%). In maize and sunflower based cropping patterns, farmers used to grow rotating with other crops such as chickpea, chili, cabbage, onion, parsley, spinach, tomato, watermelon, cotton and banana depending on the market demand. In the fertilizer management practices, they used to apply organic manure, compound, urea, T-super (Triple super phosphorus) and foliar fertilizers. The greater portion of respondents (81%) used organic manure with the average application rate of 4.82 cart per hector (2.42ton ha−1) per year. The highest number of respondent (79%) used compound fertilizers, 85% used urea fertilizer, 2% used T-super and 69% used foliar fertilizers depending on cropping patterns. Concerned with soil fertility status, half of respondents answered that their farm had good fertility status without testing their soils. There were 94% of study area without soil test. It indicated that the study area was necessary to conduct soil analyses to improve soil fertility status. In summary, farm size, compound fertilizer usage, foliar application and year of fertilizer application were depending on diversified cropping patterns. Especially, a cropping pattern including pulses would be assessed with much application of foliar fertilizers

PUBLIC SECONDARY EDUCATION IN RURAL AREAS IN HAITI - DOMINANCE AND ABUSE OF POWER THROUGH THE LENS OF POLARITIES OF DEMOCRACY THEORY
Public secondary schools are scarcely available to children in rural Haiti who want to continue their education beyond primary school. While some remote communities may offer private schools, poor families simply cannot afford to send their children to private schools or even move to a city where they have options to attend public secondary schools. The research examined the perspectives of well-informed Haitian educators and other educators who were familiar with the issue of limited access to public secondary education in rural areas of Haiti. The research further determined that the problem can't be solved unless we look at how the country's educational system was affected by Dominance and Abuse of Power by the Elites and other oppressive factors. 20 educators in Haiti and the United States participated in semi-structured interviews to compile data that were analyzed through the prism of Benet's Polarities of democracy theory. The findings indicated that Education for rural residents is undervalued by the government. Political and personal agendas are given more priority. Closing the gap between urban and country life is critical. More public secondary schools for rural areas need to be established, which will need a paradigm shift in the education system of the country

NAVIGATING THE CRISIS: SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND ALCOHOL AMONG TODAY'S YOUTH GENERATION
Substance and alcohol abuse among youth in India represents a pressing public health concern with far-reaching consequences. School-based interventions, peer mentoring programs, and family counseling can play pivotal roles in prevention and early intervention.

Additionally, collaboration between government agencies, NGOs, and healthcare providers is crucial for implementing comprehensive strategies to combat youth substance abuse, addressing substance and alcohol abuse among youth in India demands concerted efforts from various stakeholders. By implementing evidence-based interventions and fostering a supportive environment, it is possible to mitigate the adverse effects of substance abuse and promote the well-being of India's future generations

EFFECT OF ORGANIC MULCHES AND LIVING MULCHES ON WEED INFESTATION AND YIELD OF MAIZE (ZEA MAYS L.) DURING WET SEASON
Mulching provides several benefits to the agro-ecosystem and plays an important role in integrated weed management system. To study the effect of organic mulches and living mulches on weed infestation and yield of maize, the experiments were conducted at the field of Department of Agronomy, Yezin Agricultural University (YAU) and Tatkon Agricultural Research Farm, Department of Agricultural Research (DAR) in Myanmar during wet season, 2023. In both locations, there were six treatments: control (no mulch) (T1), maize stover mulch (T2) and rice straw mulch) (T3) as organic mulches (8 ton ha-1), cowpea mulch (T4), green gram mulch (T5) and lablab bean mulch (T6) with the seed rate of each 10 kg ha-1 as living mulches by using Randomized complete block (RCB) design with three replications. In Yezin, the results showed that the lowest weed infestation was found in T3 followed by T2 among all treatments at all sampling times Among the selected living mulches treatments, the minimum weed infestation was observed in T4. The highest weed infestation was found in control (T1) in both study areas. In Tatkon, weed density was also significantly reduced by T3 and T2 at 15 days after sowing (DAS). After that, at 35 DAS, 55 DAS and 75 DAS, the better weed control efficiency was found in rice straw mulch (T3) followed by cowpea mulch (T4) and lablab bean mulch (T6). The minimum weed infestation was found in T3 followed by T4 and T6. However, the highest maize grain yield was observed in T4 in both study areas. Therefore, the cowpea mulch (T4) is suitable to control weed infestation and to optimize maize grain yield for sustainable maize cultivation of the study areas. Living mulch or organic mulch should be used in maize cultivation rather than without using mulch (control). Organic mulches should be used in places where living mulches are not suitable
