AI as an accelerator for defining new problems that transcends boundaries
Interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, convergence, and No-Boundary Thinking (NBT) research are methodology and technology-agnostic approaches to problem solving. The focus is on defining problems informed by access to multiple knowledge sources and expert perspectives across different domains, with the goal of accessing all available knowledge sources and perspectives. While access to all available knowledge sources and perspectives could be seen as a difficult to attain objective, with the recent rise of AI we might be closer to approaching this goal. We review several examples of methodologies and technologies that have been used to put these strategies into action, but the primary focus of this paper is on how recent advances in AI now enable a quantum leap forward in defining new problems. By leveraging the capacity of AI to synthesize knowledge from multiple domains, these tools can be used to propose multiple candidate problem definitions. AI is uniquely able to draw upon many more knowledge sources than any individual-or even a very large team-could. Coupled with human intelligence, better problems can be defined to address complex scholarly or societal challenges

The Association between Insomnia & Porn Addiction
This study inquired about the potential association between insomnia and porn addiction across various sexual gender identities in Rhode Island Young Adults. Using data from the 2022 Rhode Island Young Adult Survey, 1,022 young adults aged 18-25 who live in Rhode Island—for at least a part of the year, were successfully recruited. Multivariable logistic regression was used to estimate the relationship between insomnia and porn addiction. An interaction term between sex/gender identity (cisgender heterosexual males; cisgender heterosexual females; sexual and gender minorities) and insomnia was added to the model to assess potential moderation.
Results from the study show that young adults with insomnia, controlling for all confounders, had 2.51(95% CI: 1.53, 4.35) times the odds of porn addiction compared to those without insomnia. In conclusion, insomnia is associated with porn addiction among young adults, particularly among cisgender heterosexual males. Future research should run studies to determine if treating sleep related disorders, such as insomnia, may impact an individual’s use of pornographic material and potentially hone into potential pornographic reliance
Benefits of Aquatic Therapy in Older Adults
Aquatic Therapy (AT) helps with physical, mental, and psychosocial components of recovery. Substantial evidence shows that traditional (on-land) therapy has a positive impact on quality of life and occupational performance. However, limited research exists on the impact of combining traditional and aquatic therapies on rehabilitation outcomes and occupational engagement. Aquatic therapy has been a therapeutic modality since 2400 B.C. and is not fully exploited despite having strong evidence of its benefits (B.E. Kauffman & B.W. Kauffman, 2014; Chesapeake Bay Aquatic and Physical Therapy, 2024). There is a large gap in the literature about the benefits of combining aquatic and on-land therapies on occupational performance, engagement, and quality of life. Therefore, referral rates to AT are low due to the existing perceptions and insufficient awareness of the benefits (Hydroworx, 2024)
A Second Glance
Success in retail is designed, not discovered. This project followed the challenge of designing a comprehensive business model for a hypothetical retail store, Second Glance. The objective of this project was to accurately simulate the real-world complexities that retail businesses face. It required significant research as well as the application of everything the presenter learned in the Fashion Merchandising and Retailing major curriculum. To start, a situation analysis was conducted to establish marketing positioning as a retailer that specializes in preloved clothing. The target market consisted of 18–25-year-old fashion-forward college students with a low income. Primarily operating as an ecommerce business with only one location in Burlington, VT, a free-spirited brand image was created that embodies a unique but reliable essence. Next, the challenges that a second-hand retailer face were researched and defined: differentiation from competition, inconsistent sourcing/inventory, and staffing. A critical component of this project involved formulating a well-defined problem statement, which served as the foundation for developing three carefully researched and actionable strategies aimed at resolving the key business challenge. The strategies were AI integration, a mobile app, and collaboration with a local university. Each proposed solution was designed to enhance customer engagement, operational efficiency, and long-term viability. Ultimately, the project was submitted in a slideshow that balanced clear communication with creative brand representation. This project provided valuable insight into the complexities of business strategy, reinforcing the importance of data-driven decision-making and adaptability in a competitive retail environment. In the end, the slideshow presenting this hypothetical retailer, its challenges, and potential solutions showcases the content learned over the presenter’s four years at Johnson & Wales University
A Tale As Old As Time
I feel as this poem showcase the true meaning of love. Which this poem I think it shows how the biggest loss in life is the person you love most but also you have gained so much over the years. He gained at the end of a new routine and also remembered the memories of there past
