The early warning systems for flood disaster develop with the technologies fast growth. These warning systems early alert people against flood disaster. Many proposed systems use high techniques to alert for flood such as, Short Message Service (SMS) via Global System for Mobile communications (GSM); however, they are still complex to program and interface, in addition to their high cost. This paper proposes a simple and low cost early warning system using Arduino board, which is used to control the whole system and GSM shields to send and receive data. This work applies on specific region in Yemen, which is Al-Saila. The proposed system determines the water levels using float sensors. Then it analyzes the collected data and makes the proper decision. The GSM network is used to connect the overall system units via SMS. The system has been designed and implemented based on two components, Hardware and Software. The system units are powered from the main supply in addition to solar cell panel to increase system’s reliabilit
Heterogeneous Wireless Network (HWN) is defined as a new type of wireless networks where anyone can communicate with anyone else, anywhere and anytime, or enjoy any service of any network operator, through any network of any service provider in the most efficient and optimal way according to the user criteria. The needs for supporting various applications and services and for providing ubiquitous coverage in the HWN require more complex and intelligent radio resource management techniques that enable the coordination among the different radio access technologies. This paper considers the most important radio resource management mechanism in HWN that is Joint Admission Control (JAC). JAC handles all new or handoff service requests in the HWN and checks whether the incoming service requests to be admitted. Then, it allocates the required resources and guarantees the Quality of Service (QoS) constraints for the service. This paper develops a VIKOR decision support system based algorithm to address the JAC problem in the modern HWN networks. The proposed algorithm aims to decrease the influence of the dissimilar, imprecise, and contradictory measurements for the JAC criteria coming from different sources. A performance analysis is done and the results are compared with traditional algorithms for JAC. These results demonstrate a significant improvement with our developed algorithm
Knowledge of Markets and its Role in Determining Competition Strategies for Academic Programs in Jordanian Private Universities- Amman
AbstractThis study aimed to clarify the role of market knowledge for determining competitive strategies for academic programs, within a sample of (7) private Jordanian universities in Amman capital. The alternatives competitive advantages were chosen by administrative and students from different universities. Two samples were taken the first one of the management consists of (150) administrators, and the second sample of the students consists of (450) students in the faculty of business, and it has been targeted by judgmental sample ، the data obtained through second questionnaire including the level of accomplishing the competitive advantages resulting to the administrators and students. The study used a likert scale and adoption of some statistical methods to analyze the data: standard deviation ، mean, correlation factor ، liner regression ، independent sample T-test and one way ANOVA. The main results of this study were: the importance of market knowledge presented by students' knowledge and competitors' knowledge for determining the competitive strategic alternatives ، the need to verify the arrival of the benefits over the students in universities. Quantitive Approach to Measuring Course Learning OutcomesAbstract Accreditation criteria of computing and engineering programs require effective learning outcomes assessment with documented procedures, tools, results, and actions to close the assessment loop with broad faculty involvement. This paper describes a methodology for providing quantitative measurement of a course learning outcomes. The methodology uses a linkage matrix that associate each course learning outcome to one or more course assessment tool. The approach adopted provides a numeric score between 0 and 1 for each learning outcome with respect to each assessment tool and a combined score will be calculated for each learning outcome from the tools associated with that outcome. The proposed methodology also provides insights into the consistency of the various assessment tool used to measure the achievement of a particular course learning outcome. The methodology described here has been successfully adopted in obtaining accreditation to for various computing degree programs offered by the College of Information Technology at Ajman University of Science & Technology.Keywords: Course outcomes; Course assessment; learning outcomes; Accreditation..
AbstractThis research aims at developing criteria for the quality management andassurance. To achieve this objective, the researcher followed the theoreticalcompositional analytic method, as a means to identify the concept of the totalquality management; in order to draw a general framework to develop the TQMand assurance criteria in the higher education institutions. This method explainshow would the university administration benefit this modern managerial methodas an introduction to reform and develop the educational management .The criteria consisted of the following areas: Leadership, university vision andMission, Organizational culture, teacher's, educational curricula and program'shuman and financial resources management and development science research,community service and student's areas: universities higher management, mission ofthe university, organizational culture, strategic planning, human resourcesmanagement, on-going improvement, and customer satisfaction.In the light of the results of this study, the researchers recommended that theArab higher education institutions should activate the quality management system,and commence actual applying thereof, through working toward developing thevalues and attitudes. This is quite necessary to build a concrete organizationalculture to assure the total quality and the implementation processes by all theworkers in the universities. Most important of these values are: cooperation,teamwork spirit, time respect and maintenance, eagerness in innovation andrenovation, and ongoing improvement. These reflect the extent of interest inquality, through initiation of training centers specially designed for TQM in theuniversities, which will work toward achieving a high quality level in the groupwork performance. The researcher further recommends providing a network ofinterlinked computers containing database, in which all the facts and data arestored, as well as the statistics concerning all the processes in the universities. Inaddition, it is quite important to support the electronic culture of the workerswith these facilities in order to obtain the various and modern information of thedifferent walks of life, especially in the areas of education, teaching and scientificresearch. The level of application of quality assurance bases in the academic department of the faculties of business and finance
Abstract This study focused on how to apply the bases of quality assurance accredited by Al Hussein Fund for Excellence, American and Britain quality assurance committees and some academic departments. A comparison between the results of external and internal auditing related to the level of application was made. The comparison revealed the bases components that must be taken care of. For data analysis, the researcher used arithmetic means, standard deviation and T –test. Results reveal that one can depend on internal auditing bodies to identify weaknesses and strengths along with external ones, as the analysis of the internal reviewer is not less professional, in addition, he knows better the values and local culture. He is impartial and fully aware that there is a strong relationship between what happens academically and the market as it is the essence of quality assurance.

This study aimed to shed light on the concept of Total Quality in the Islamic perspective and statement of assets that underpin and from which, It also aims to highlight the most important influences in the application of this concept, which is reflected positively or negatively, whether in Islamic or Western culture. One of its goal is to highlight on the evidence of this concept in Islam. The study provided several results, The most important is that this concept is based on a set of principles and public assets in Islam, such as perfection and charity, reform, and wisdom, there are a set of Influential factor in the application of this concept. The most important factors are the influential Belief, and political, economic, social and moral factors. The research explained that all the principles of quality in Western thought has already been referred in Islam, and the approach was clear in its instructions, directives, and applications.
