Herb and Mildrid Schimmelpfennig at Bismarck Junior College's World's Largest Banana Split. "Homecoming activities have been in full swing this week and excitement is mounting as both students and faculty look forward to building the 612-foot BJC Banana split on Friday. Over 500 students and faculty have signed up to help construct the split and over 50 back-up persons will be on hand if extra help is needed, according to Suezette Bieri Jacobs, director of Student Union activities. "The support has been incredible,"said Jacobs. "People are really going out of their way to help."Local businesses have donated 50 barrels and lumber to be used in making the banana split's container and the faculty has donated money to top the split with nuts. "It's fun to plan a big program when everyone makes an extra effort to support it,"Jacobs said. The banana split will be built in the parking lot east of the main building. Banana split teams should be at their respective stations by 10 a.m
