    No full text
In an era of heightened global volatility, fragile firms—such as SMEs, international entrepreneurs, and internationalizing B2B companies—face unique challenges in sustaining their internationalization efforts. This dissertation examines the mechanisms by which these firms navigate international expansion amid global crises, focusing on the interplay between dynamic capabilities. The study employs a mixed-method approach, combining fsQCA analyses, qualitative case studies, and a grounded theory approach. Findings illustrate how fragile firms can not only survive but thrive in global markets by upgrading their dynamic capabilities. This research provides actionable insights into strategic resilience for fragile firms, underscoring the importance of sustainable internationalization strategies and crisis-adaptable global value chain management. This work contributes to the fields of international business and global strategy by elucidating the specific configurations that enable fragile firms to succeed in uncertain environments, providing a practical roadmap for resilience in a volatile global landscape

Il lettore-spettatore-giocatore nel cartone animato interattivo. Analisi di un longplay

    No full text
The article analyzes the longplays (video recordings with sound, posted on YouTube) of the adventures played in the interactive cartoons Il cane di terracotta (2000), Il ladro di merendine (2001), and La voce del violino (2001), based on the novels of the same name by Andrea Camilleri. These cartoons were conceived and produced by Im*media and published by Sellerio. The audio in these longplays comes solely from the video game itself, allowing for an analysis of the gameplay—that is, the interaction between player and game, its mechanics, objectives, and plot. The goal is not to evaluate player performance but to examine gameplays in relation to the novels. By applying tools from traditional narratology and game studies for text analysis, as well as rhetoric and linguistics to analyze the adaptation process and identify variations, the essay defines the identity of these derivative texts by tracing them back to the original works. It also explores how the three novels are received within them and situates the interactive cartoons within Montalbano’s narrative universe

Digitalization and Economic Performance of Italian Performing Arts in 2022

    No full text
If the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the Italian performing arts industry, the European Union and the Italian Government were ready to make up for the lack of resources of cultural organizations. Digitalization was at the heart of European and State policies and funding and provided grants to organizations that demonstrated spending on marketing and IT, digitalization of businesses and communication. This paper aims to understand how the COVID-19 pandemic forced a sample of 995 Italian performing arts to cope with stringency and resulted as a stimulus to develop digitalization, which remained a precious legacy in the post-pandemic 2022

The Post-War Construction of a Sense of Belonging in Italian Film Criticism (1943–53)

    Get PDF
The immediate post-war years in Italy were characterized by a dual focus: on the one hand, the phase of reconstruction and economic revival, and on the other, a vibrant debate surrounding the ‘defascization’ of politics and culture, which ultimately led to a process of self-absolution. During this time, periodicals underwent significant turmoil, marked by a revival of pre-war models alongside the emergence of new publications. In the realm of film criticism, there was a resurgence of old specialized magazines, along with the creation of new ones, reflecting a growing recognition of the importance of film critics in the dissemination and interpretation of cinema. Intense discussions arose as film critics sought to distance themselves from the fascist era, positioning themselves around three pivotal themes: navigating Italy’s complex socio-political landscape, addressing the evolution of Italian cinema during a transformative period marked by the birth of neorealism, and responding to the influx of foreign films — particularly Hollywood productions — that returned to theaters following the era of autarky. This article aims to analyze how a sense of belonging among film critics in post-war Italy was constructed by examining editorials from popular magazines such as Oggi (resuming publication in 1945) and Tempo (resuming in 1946), as well as specialized film magazines like Star (1944), Film d’oggi (1945), Film, and Bianco e Nero (both resuming in 1946), Cinema (resuming in 1948), Filmcritica (1950), and Cinema Nuovo (1952). Initially, the Years following the war fostered a spirit of collaboration among film critics; however, by the late 1940s, the onset of the Cold War and differing ideological affiliations contributed to a cultural confrontation that gave rise to militant film criticism
