A Scottish Living Wage 2008

Abstract

This report by the Employment Research Institute, Napier University, Edinburgh, for the Poverty Alliance has two objectives: first, to set out a methodology for identifying a Scottish Living Wage. Second, to use that methodology to suggest the rate at which a Scottish Living Wage ought to be set for 2008. A Living Wage is a minimum income that enables workers and their families to maintain an acceptable standard of basic material needs without living in poverty.
